The opening ceremonies were great - I loved the tap dancing and fiddle playing! And k.d. lang - awesome. I did ravelympics as well, but didn't get much done. I finished a cowl and started a sweater, but that is all.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16474365457603965851noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2842225301047803907.post-33117766790135152542010-02-20T04:08:52.318-08:002010-02-20T04:08:52.318-08:00That's how I felt when we went to the Summer O...That's how I felt when we went to the Summer Olympics in Atlanta in 1996. It restored my faith in the Olympics games and also gave me a bit of pride in my country. I loved how the spirit of the games is still intact--how everyone roots for the winners--and the losers. It doesn't translate on television but in person, it was awesome!

I wasn't a knitter then, though.Barb Matijevichhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16469997012394334517noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2842225301047803907.post-17753344792789680782010-02-18T05:51:41.148-08:002010-02-18T05:51:41.148-08:00Mrs. Q, long-time lurker here. After our first set we realized the friends we brought with us were all downstairs watching the ceremonies. I had to put the cynicism aside. Holy crap, Canada totally wins the opening ceremonies! I do hope the light guy gets a gold metal.

P.S. I thought it was a badger. I couldn't figure out what it had to do with the rest of it.
